How do I keep my Lunette menstrual cup from developing odor or discoloration?

To avoid smell and discoloration, the cup should always first be rinsed in cold water. Afterwards, clean the cup with hot water and the Lunette Feelbetter Liquid Wash. You can also use the Lunette disinfecting wipes or rubbing alcohol.

Can I clean my Lunette by putting it in the dishwasher? I've heard that silicone is dishwasher safe.

No — the biggest risk posed here is not to your cup but to your vagina. The chemicals used in dishwasher detergents are harsh and likely to be very dangerous to your mucous membranes. Strong detergents can leave residue on the cup (even if you can't see it) and cause serious irritation in your mucous membranes. The best way to wash your cup is with mild soap or the Lunette Liquid Wash. 

Can you wash the storage bag of the Lunette menstrual cup?

The storage bag is made of satin and can be hand washed or washed in the washing machine at warm water cycle. The bag can also be ironed (medium heat).

The storage bag fabric may seem a bit stiff in the beginning, but it will become significantly softer after washing. The material used is suitable for vegans.

I have been using my Lunette for years and now I would like to get a new one. What should I do with the old?

You can throw your cup to a bin but we recommend burning. When burning your cup will only create white ash and not any harmful chemicals or gas.
