Hi! Lovely to hear that so many have had supportive family members, sisters, moms and friends :)

First period stories can always be a little bit embarrassing or unexpected, but it’s always great to hear stories and not feel so alone. Open discussions around periods are super important, let it be the first period or after many years of having periods! Talking about periods (and everything else) we can eliminate the shame and embarrassment from it, together. Keep those stories coming!

For the first day of my period it was brown and I thought I shit my self so I cleaned up a left. The next day I went to school and a girl said she had gotten her first period and she ask did u start I was like I don’ know bcuz something’s happened. I went to the bathroom from extreme cramps and was like shit why did this happen now… I just left it there didn’t even put a pad on just left. It was so uncomfortable for the whole day until I came home and started crying to my older sister. Haha! Thank god I wore black pant though.

hi,so i had my period at 11 i was with my mom coming after school but when i was everybody was seeing me but 1 women came and said that ur child is having periods pls cover it so my mom covered it losing the bag towards my butt so yeah that was my periods story oh wait when i told my father about this he came and hugged me. :)

I knew abt periods from a young age cuz some of them had sisies who had periods. So i still remeber the date october 12 2020. i was 12 at that time and it was the day of my maths exam
it was a tuesday so saturday i was at my grandparents and i wokeup on the morning and I had intense cramps in a way i couldnt even get out of the bed.
And When it lessened I went to the bathroom saw that there was brown colour thing on panties at that i had discharge and i though it was that and all even though i first thought i had my period but according to me silly me I thought it came out like #1 so i thought that i didnt have it saturday and monday . so on tuesday after i wrote my exam (mathematics) and sat on the steps and played with my lil bro using slime and i was wearing a white pants that day.mom saw a little dot stain took me to the kitchen where my grandma and auntie was there .and well she took me to the kitchen i was anyway abt to take a bath and well took a bath and mom handed me a pad and i was like having a huge lump in my throat even though i didnt know why . My uncle called me asked me i i wanted cake or biriyani to celbrate ( which was embarassing ). that night itself my uncle got me two set of necklace and earings (gold) and a gold ring. On my 7th day I got other uncles and aunts came and i got a gold coin,2earrings,abangle,and a ring.

I knew about periods I heard my Mom talking about it. But on 16th July just 1 day after my 11th Birthday I got my first period! I was scared that I pooped in my bloomers. So I washed it… But my mom got to know about it next day. She just said it normaly and gave a pad to attach…I didn’t get mensurational information at school SO I WAS REALLY FREAKED OUT !!!!!

Mine happened when I was 11 on Easter 2020 I was putting on my dress and noticed a brown stain in my underwear when I wiped to see if I went number two I saw blood at first I just ignored it then at the end of the day I put a piece of toilet paper over it then the day after it was their again and I thought I was siding so I then told my mom that I was dieing and peeing blood she had to go to work so I texted her but before I got in the shower and when I got out blood 🩸 was leaking every where I was really scared then she had finally replied and asked to send a photo of my underwear then she told me I was on my period and I was happy later that night my mom explained every thing then a mont later in may we went to go see my dad at a park and she told him it was very embarrassing 😳 I hated it I wasn’t even able to look him in the eye 👁 from my experience always tell your parent the day it happens because I ruined that dress which cost 300 dollars luckily I have never told my mom I started before I actually started I am now 12. Any way I hope you liked my story

One day, when I was 13, I wiped and saw there was a little dark mucus, and I kinda just brushed it off. I went to bed and the next morning I saw a brown stain on my underwear, but I just thought it was discharge or something since I’ve had discharge for a long time before I started my period. However, the next day I started to clue in that it could be my period, so I did some research and came to the conclusion that it most likely was. I mustered up my courage to tell my mom who was understanding. I knew a lot about periods from school, my mom, and the Internet, so I was well prepared for it. However, I wasn’t prepared emotionally, and when I got it I cried a bit because I was scared to grow up, as it seemed like such a big milestone at the time.

I got my period in school when I was 10. I thought I shit my pants at first but I wiped it off in the toilet and realised it was blood. I panicked and hid it for like 3 months before I told my mother. Yes, I am having my period while typing this

I was at sailing (yeah, I do that, but my period has kind of ruined it because my mom wouldn’t give me tampons for the first year. Lucky it’s COVID though, so I haven’t missed much, and I’ve just ordered a menstrual cup so that I can participate in sports and stuff while on my period without fear of leakage) and I was getting ready to go watch a volleyball game, and my stomach was cramping a bit- I don’t think much of it. I went to the game, and it sort of felt like something was coming out of my vagina (a bit like when you sneeze, just not on such a major level) I elected to ignore it because the game was almost over, and it would be embarrassing to be like, “can we go home- I uhhh think I peed my pants or something” when I got home I was getting ready for bed and my mom was in my room waiting to say goodnight to me, and I used the bathroom, and lo and behold- blood. I kind of stood up peeked around the bathroom door, and said “mom? I think I got my period…”. She went and got me a pad- told my dad all about it (ughhhh) and then just kind of ignored it…

I got my period when I was 13 , I was sitting at the balcony of the house and
I felt a great rush, I thought I pee on myself, I rush to the toilet and I saw a big pink on my panties
I wiped it and I saw a reddish pink
I told my mom and she got me a sanitary napkin. It wasn’t that easy
But am happy to be grown up

I am 10 years old I have not started my period yet or gotten my first bra I think I will get it soon I am exited and suuuuper nervous but scared I just hope I get It when my mom is home and I am just chillin

It was just another day on 16th of April 2020, and me and my older sister had just finished swimming, my sister got in the shower first as I waited in my mums room (butt naked with only a towel around me). I sat on her sofa and went on my phone, a couple minutes went by and I noticed that my kitty had a long brown colored string hanging out of it ( I know realize it was old blood clots), I was curious and decided to pull it out and saw that it was about 1 inch long, I didn’t really think anything of it but… later that evening me and my sister were sitting in my mums room, I went to the bathroom and saw a red circle in my underwear… so I wiped myself and saw the same long 1inch string but it was BLOOD RED!!! I freaked out and got my sister “sis go look in the toilet” I said to her “you got ur period” she said back to me… I then bursted into tears and was crying for about 10 minutes even tho I knew I’d get it someday

i got my period when i was in ss1,i woke up and went to pee in the toilet and i saw blood on my pant.I was super excited,i hurried to tell my sister and then she gave me pad.

One day I pooped in my pants and my aunt thought it was my first period. lol

Mine was happened when I was in class 8th and I was around 12 or 13. I was in the school at that and that day was Saturday and I’ve to wear white dress at that time as school uniform. And at the end of the school when I was in the rickshaw and when I get down from the rickshaw and go to the home , I feel that few children make fun of me cz my white pants got red spots. And I was so embarrassed in front of all the children and I run to the home fast and tell about my mom. She calms me down and give me the pad and tell me about this thing called“Periods”.

So i had my period a few months ago and i was at a store. Then I went to the bathroom and saw a big, brown stain. On second thought I thought i poop in my pants so that made me feel so embarrassed (i did not want to tell my mom because my dad always hears what i say). But then a few weeks later, i saw red things on my underwear. (my mom was sleeping next to me).i was so scared that i had to tell my mom. My mom FREAKED OUT and called my aunt (for some reason. Plus, she called almost everybody). And thats it 😇

Mine happened during the summer of 2009 when I was one month away from turning 14. The day before my period actually happened, I had awful cramps. I didn’t think anything of it and thought I just had stomach pains or something. The next morning, I woke up and both my pajama pants AND my bed sheets were drenched in blood. It looked like I murdered someone in my sleep. I hobbled out of my room to where my mom was and she took one look at my bloody pants before grinning and hugging me. She gave me a congratulatory card later that day.

So when I started my period it was sunday and last Friday I had breakdown cause I will never get my period and that Saturday before Sunday my friends came over and I had really weird mood swings and cramps but I didn’t care and next morning I saw blood in my underwear I freaked out my legs were shaking I couldn’t believe I was really happy that moment
